Our Vibe
When the curtain rose on the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, little did we know we were about to step into a chaotic drama. Some of us got the short end of the stick – jobs took a hike, and that unknown uncertainty threw a major party in our heads and hearts.
But wait, there's a plot twist! We said "Sayonara" to that pandemic nightmare and embarked on a wild adventure. Step one: sold all our loot, bid adieu to our regular 9-to-5 grind (which somehow turned into more like 9-to-who-knows-when), and decided to chase our dreams with a fresh spin in this crazy new world. We swapped the familiar security blankets and comfy chairs of California for a swanky tropical vibe down in the Mexican Caribbean.
So, here we were, plopped down in the lush jungles of the Riviera Maya, feeling like we'd just walked into our own episode of "Survivor: Pandemic Edition." Amid the worldwide whirlwind, we stumbled upon an unexpected calmness – like we'd discovered the secret recipe for chill. Remote work became our jam – no office cubicles, no traffic jams, just us and our laptops, living our best pajama-clad lives. We were basically professional dream-chasers, carving out our own paths and embracing our newfound freedom.
Once we got comfy in our new reality, it hit us like a bolt of inspiration lightning. Real freedom wasn't just some buzzword – it was a whole mindset. We dialed back the frenzy, had a cozy chat with life, and decided to savor every tiny droplet of awesomeness it had to offer. Nature became our sidekick, and we realized that collecting memories beat collecting stuff any day.
Enter SLWMO – our little memo to the world. It's like a neon sign for fellow dreamers out there, the ones who high-five trees and get their kicks from nature's embrace. It's a friendly nudge to go all in, to live without that annoying fear factor, because who wants to look back with a bunch of "shoulda, woulda, couldas"? SLWMO is all about living life like it's a slow dance – taking your time, soaking up the moments, and shaking off those regrets. After all, why rush? Life's a journey, and we're here to wring out every drop of awesome while we're still rockin' and rollin'!
The Cause We Support
Oceans cover 71 percent of the planet and are home to important species and ecosystems that we rely on for food, livelihoods, climate regulation, and more. But the oceans need our help. Saving the oceans can sometimes feel like an overwhelming task, but if we all pitch in, we can make a big difference.
Upon moving to The Riviera Maya the first thing we were excited about was the ocean. It was love at first sight, there’s nothing like seeing the mesmerizing turquoise blue water of Cancun. It was like nothing we had ever seen or experienced before. Sure we came from California and had visited many other beaches and oceans, but this one has a certain type of power. The water is so gentle and the temperature is perfect any time of the year. We wanted to be involved in ways that we could help preserve the beautiful Caribbean Sea and all bodies of water for that matter.
That’s when we found Oceana, a global cause dedicated to protecting and preserving the World’s oceans. We found our home near this beautiful sea and want to keep it this way for generations to come.
